About this deal

His debut thriller, IMMORAL, won the Macavity Award for Best First Novel and was a nominee for the Edgar, Dagger, Anthony, and Barry Awards. IMMORAL was named an International Book of the Month, a distinction shared with authors such as Harlan Coben and Lisa Unger. It was just a fun, wild ride! The characters, although there were only a few, were fantastic! Will! Man! The poor guy!! All of Brian's books are also available in audiobook editions. His novels THE BONE HOUSE and SEASON OF FEAR were both finalists for Best Audiobook of the Year in Thriller/Suspense.

Nora (Leona's reincarnation) explains that most Infinites remember their past lives around puberty, which is why Evan was diagnosed schizophrenic. But Evan struggles to regain Treadway's memories, as a result of trauma endured from accidents earlier in life. However, another Infinite named the Artisan has a machine that restores Evan's memories. William Chanokh is the primary computer scientist, and has spent the last ten years in a failed version of cryo-sleep... being unable to move or do anything, but not fully asleep. When he is awoken from an intense dream by a long screwdriver being thrust into his chest, he understands that he is dead. Except he's not. When he awakens and his heart starts beating again, he is unsure why he has been granted a gift of seeming immortality, he's happy to take it. This story was okay. It's got a lot of Inception-like twists. The protagonist wakes up aboard a ship that was supposed to take him in suspended animation to a new colony world, and finds one of his crewmates has gone insane and killed everyone else. Nothing really new here yet — it's your basic "Oh shit things went wrong!" colony ship story. From the evidence presented, it does seem that Bankman-Fried isn’t motivated by personal, material gain. Self-enrichment doesn’t interest him beyond the gamer’s urge to beat the house and defeat his opponents. The absence of lavish spending, however, is not in itself evidence of the simplicity of motive Lewis ascribes to him. Bankman-Fried believes life’s only sensible philosophy is utilitarianism, which, he tells the author, scares most people because it “encourages selflessness”. But on the evidence of the book, Sam Bankman-Fried is not particularly selfless. The Galahad, a faster-than-light spacecraft, carries fifty scientists and engineers on a mission to prepare Kepler 452b, Earth's nearest habitable neighbor at 1400 light years away. With Earth no longer habitable and the Mars colony slowly failing, they are humanity's best hope.

Lewis spent eight months observing Bankman-Fried’s wildly chaotic empire at first hand, partly at the compound of jungle huts in the Bahamas from which he ran FTX. This extraordinary book is the tale of those months, and of the steps by which Bankman-Fried, the wild-haired maths prodigy, made a fortune of tens of billions of dollars in his 20s and lost it all in a long weekend, financially ruining employees and investors. Ty Burr of The Boston Globe gave the film 1.5/4 stars and wrote: "Heading straight to streaming platform Paramount+ without the embarrassment of appearing in theaters first, the movie is both blissfully incoherent and weirdly generic, as if it had been assembled from the spare parts of other movies and glued together with stuntwork." [31] From The Hollywood Reporter, David Rooney said: " Infinite is a soulless grind. Juiced up with a succession of CG-enhanced accelerated chases and fight action interspersed with numbing bursts of high-concept geek speak, Antoine Fuqua's sci-fi thriller isn't helped by a lead performance from Mark Wahlberg at his most inexpressive." [32] Robinson’s writing style is very engaging and kept me interested for the majority of the book, despite issues with the characters and plot. The characters were okay but not always the most likable. Honestly, William annoyed me quite often throughout the book, as I found him impulsive, emotional, and sometimes pretty dense for someone who’s supposedly really intelligent. The plot was definitely hit and miss. At times, it was exciting with action or introspective with discussions between characters, but other times it was just plain bizarre. As I mentioned before, the concepts in this book are intriguing, but I think there was probably too much going on with not enough time spent to fully flesh out these concepts. Although well written, I just couldn't suspend my imagination to enjoy this one. The plot is a bit complex, and I had to re-read some sections at one point because it didn't make sense to me. The characters are deftly drawn, and as in most books, some I liked, some I didn't. The ending was a bit of a surprise. On her twelfth birthday she’ll take her first official leap, on a school field trip to 2048. They’ll visit the Time Squad Centre, a time-travelling crime-fighting organisation. But when Elle, in 2020, receives a cryptic SOS text message sent from someone in 2048 she knows something is wrong in the future. Who sent it? Why? First of all, I'm not just trolling for the sake of being an asshole. I'm a huge Robinson fan and have read almost every novel, novella, short story, and whathaveyou, and would absolutely love for every single one his books to garner 5 stars. The guy is obviously one of the most talented, hard working, and still underrated authors out there, and I think it goes without saying that he needs every ounce of postitve publicity, word of moth and over all high marks on hit works.
