Edit: I love this so much, and can't believe it was sitting *right under my nose* in the local pharmacy MY WHOLE LIFE. After the application you have a cool and refreshing feeling on the skin, also very refreshing from the smell. This isn't a cologne for others to smell on you; it's a splasher, a cool boost for the face whether it be on a hot day or after shaving.

It's an established Eau de Cologne since generations and when I smell it I just know it's 4711 unmistakably. Top notes are Lemon, Bergamot and Orange; middle notes are Lavender and Rosemary; base notes are Neroli and Petitgrain. Put on 4711 and go get dressed/style your hair while you think about it; it'll be gone by the time you truly need to make a final decision, and at least you weren't without fragrance while you were pondering your choice.Great to wear when you're feeling down or sick because it comforts you and gives you the feeling that everything is going to be good. That can be a good thing if you're looking for a clean freshie, and it's cheap as hell, but expect to have to spray frequently.

Both are in an old class of scents that were used as "bath splash," the kind of thing you might wear if you are cleaning up but not going anywhere that requires a formal perfume. I know it's vintage, smells old and so on, but to me it's a genuine antidepressant, and I hope I get old enough to bathe in it. The scent from the blossom of the bitter orange creates a positive atmosphere, rosemary and lavender have a calming effect and orange, lemon and bergamot are responsible for a revitalising effect.It stays on my dresser now, wouldn't be without it's fabulous, light, summer memories of Detroit, and Germany in 1965. I still love and wear this now but mostly in body spray and scented wipe form rather than the actual cologne. I couldn't help but seeing old "Don Luis" splashing 5-year-old-me's freshly cut hair with a scent like this. We are talking about women who lived through or were born during the war so nothing would be wasted.
