It has a filter and small dust collector on it but no matter how careful you are with it you will still get dust everywhere so it would still be wise to wear a mask when using. The unit is lightweight, compact and can even be used one-handed, making it ideal for fatigue-free working overhead. I am not to sure what the country of origin is, however I imagine you can probably get hold of this sander fairly easily as Bosch is a world wide company.I recently purchased the Bosch Home and Garden Random Orbit Sander to tackle some sanding projects around my home, and I couldn't be happier with my purchase. Choosing your power source: 240v tools are used with normal mains power whilst 110v tools are used on construction sites for safety reasons. I suppose time will tell as to how long it will live for but given the abuse it's received to date without missing a beat the odds are looking good however I will adjust this review if it does die a premature death so if you are reading this then it's still going strong. I wouldn't replace all my sanders for this, but i would definitely go and grab this first for a project as it's a good all rounder which is usually what you want.
