About this deal

In most designs these days, the front of the cooler behind the fan tends to match the trailing edge. The screws coming through the motherboard should line up perfectly with an x-shaped bracket on the base of the H7. There is usually an option to add more heat pipes, or you could figure out how to use larger ones in some way, or even a vapor chamber if you are so inclined. CRYORIG has only been a part of the cooling market for a short while, but the company already has an extensive lineup of CPU coolers and fans, and they have quickly made a name for themselves with the R1 Ultimate and R1 Universal.

mm and weight of 134g featuring an entirely painted in black square frame and entirely painted in white propeller with 11 narrow, but with very sharply angled blades. In addition to that, the top of the pipes are hidden beneath black plastic caps to improve the appearance of the cooler. I thought it was a compatibility issue with my motherboard but recently found out CAM doesn't play well with other monitoring software. The fan, which has anti-vibration pads on both sides and is already clipped onto the fins, is pre-installed to further simplify life for those who pick up the H7.Of course, for doing the tests with my rig I will use the provided brackets and as always, first thing to do is to check the AMD installation manual, check the how to and proceed with the actual cooler installation. Of course, the cooler features the unique for the company Hive Fin structure, which combines the Jet Fin Acceleration System and Turbulence Reduction, which means that the fins are designed as a bee hive shaped structure (the loose air intake) on the front side, and normal horizontal position (high density exhaust section) on the back side of the tower.

Just below the compatibility, we find dimensional renderings of the H7, and the fan that is paired with it. A technology which allows more heat pipes to be installed in a given area by optimizing the heat pipe position in the copper base, and improve the alignment with the central processor unit. The additional fan definitely delivered a bit better cooling performance but it was not enough for sure.Installed in the default position with the intake beside the RAM slots shows zero problems with some room to spare for both PCI-E and RAM clearance. The fan is simply not audible when the system is idling, while under load, the noise is far from intrusive. And last but not least, the guys from Cryorig added a 41st fin, which is much thicker, made of plastic and is entirely in black located on top of the fins stack, including the company logo in the middle. On top of that, there is the very cool fin orientation that definitely does what it is intended to do. At the same time, Cryorig attaches great importance to keeping the installation of its CPU coolers as simple as possible.
