Zoom LiveTrak L-8 - Sound On Sound
Zoom LiveTrak L-20R is a rackmountable (using included rack ears) mixing console designed to be operated remotely over Bluetooth via iPad. The eight input channels’ signals (7 and 8 each have left and right channels) are taken directly after the preamp, before the Channel Strip and fader, while the stereo mix is captured post‑fader. The headphone amps sound clean and clear and do the job well for most headphones, though with high‑impedance models I found there wasn’t lots of gain in reserve — occasionally frustrating when I was miking quiet sources, but it won’t be an issue for most users. You can then choose which finance term you'd like to apply for, and change your deposit if you wish.It has the same I/O and recording capacity of the L-20 however as it is designed for remote use, L-20R does not have channel or master faders. LiveTrak L-20 has the same features as the L-12 however it has 16x XLR/TRS combination jack inputs along with the 2x stereo channel inputs.

Zoom LiveTrak L-12 has many of the features of the L-8, however it only operates with the included AD-19 AC power adaptor and not batteries, nor bus power. The L-8 features six high performance preamps each with phantom power, a low noise floor (-121dBU EIN), and maximum input gain of +54dB. Perhaps one of the more impressive aspects of the LiveTrak L-8 (and one that definitely impressed this reviewer) is when you realise that all of the aforementioned features are powered by the USB Bus alone, something that would have previously been inconceivable a few years ago. Here comes the most annoying thing about this mixer (if you want to use it as a class compliant audio interface). This way, it makes good sense for recording projects, for live streaming, and recording live performances while also delivering monitor and PA mixes. The plug-and- play convenience, along with the L-8’s unique SD storage capabilities and diminutive size that combine to make it an obvious choice for rehearsals, location recording and demoing on the fly, and all with enough i/o flexibility to make traditionally cumbersome tasks like laying down drums and recording live shows a relative breeze.
