About this deal

Sometimes two swimmers from the same club swim in the same heat/final. In this case, if there’s no help available, it’s possible to use two stopwatches to record their individual splits. There are many different types of swimming stopwatches available and are generally easy to operate. Lastly, we have the Accusplit 500. The Accusplit watches tend to get a fairly divided response from coaches when asked about it: those who love it really love it (particularly lefties that appreciate the twin left-right button set up) while those who don’t, well, you know. Especially when on those occasions you need to record more than two swimmers, but only have two stopwatches.

Our swimming stopwatch range features a huge choice of waterproof stopwatches that can be used by swimmers or coaches to monitor training performances. With a three-line LCD display and easy-to-read running times, current lap time and cumulative splits, the 3x100 Stopwatch has a Stroke Rate Mode which automatically calculates stroke/stride rate. Programmed for every 3rd stroke/stride.

To accurately record multiple swimmers in a lane, the coach will ideally need two stopwatches, and a pen and paper. This often requires the coach to provide some precise information about their swimming performance, such as.

Swimming Stopwatches

Measuring up to ten hours by 1/100th of a second, these specialist stopwatches automatically calculate stroke rate, allowing you to see the first and second finishing times in the same view. While the swimmers are in the process of swimming their second repeat, the coach should record the times for the first set and reset the first stopwatch ready for use on the next repeat. If some lanes are swimming in different sets, then by using two stopwatches it’s possible to time two separate lanes.

Once the swimmer’s head passes the 10m marker on their return, the coach should then stop the stopwatch and record the result. The Best Lap Counters for Swimmers. On the lower tech side of things are finger-mounted lap counters. They are cheap, reliable, and surprisingly durable.

Many of their team are current or former coaches with a deep passion for helping athletes and other coaches alike. They are proud of their nerdy reputation as inventors and pioneers with an elite crew of industrial designers employed to develop and improve swimming products, and an over-arching wish to make the sport accessible to everyone. Stop the stopwatch as the arms become fully extended and the hands come together at the beginning of the 4th stroke. The stopwatch displays the number of strokes the swimmer would complete in one minute if they continued to swim at the same stroke rate as recorded. They usually only have a single display line, making it difficult to record and recall multiple splits, during a competition.Once the swimmer has completed three complete stroke cycles (a left-arm stroke and a right-arm stroke = an arm cycle) stop the stopwatch as the left-hand fingertips enter the water for the 4th time.
