About this deal

At first glance, Arnie looks like an average doughnut—round, cakey, with a hole in the middle, iced and sprinkled. He was made by one of the best bakeries in town, and admittedly his sprinkles are candy-colored. Still, a doughnut is just a doughnut, right? Stinky Thinking: The Big Book of Gross Games and Brain Teasers (Alan Katz) – Simon & Schuster, Inc. – 2005

A tie-in card game of the same name was published in 2002 by Gamewright. [2] It is a two to four-player game geared toward players 8 years old and up. Yet another book I liked more the second time around. Keller's sense of humor is appealing, the artwork has a funky quality, the story amuses, especially the big plot twist. A deliciously imaginative story about friendship—from the author / illustrator of The Scrambled States of America. Keller has written and illustrated six books for Henry Holt Books for Young Readers: The Scrambled States of America, an American geography book; Open Wide: Tooth School Inside, a dental book about tooth care; Arnie the Doughnut, about an anthropomorphic doughnut; Grandpa Gazillion's Number Yard, a number book, Do Unto Otters, a book about manners; and The Scrambled States of America Talent Show, the follow-up to her 1998 debut.Hello, friends! It’s JJ’s birthday today, and we’re celebrating with a delightfully silly favorite from our library, Arnie The Doughnut by Laurie Keller. Review of Bowling Alley Bandit". darienlibrary.org. Darien Library. June 25, 2013. Archived from the original on June 18, 2015 . Retrieved June 18, 2015. Potato Pants! was Keller's seventh book and was released by Henry Holt Books for Young Readers in 2018. It tells the story of Potato and his eggplant nemesis, who struggle to find the perfect pants. The Weston Woods adaptation, released in 2019 and narrated by a full cast, was directed by Galen Fott. Summary: Arnie the doughnut is quite the beautiful doughnut, and cannot wait to be chosen at the doughnut shop! Mr. Bing chooses him and takes him home and when they get there, Arnie discovers that Mr. Bing plans to eat him, and Mr. Bing discovers that Arnie doesn't want to be eaten! The two figure out a compromise and become good friends. If you want to know what they compromise is, you should read the book! When reading this book, I found myself to be very worried for Arnie. He is so sweet and naive, and it was heartbreaking when he found out that all doughnuts are usually eaten. However, the story becomes much happier once you realize Arnie is not going to be eaten, and even more so when he finds the perfect role as Mr. Bing's dog.

New Books – December, 2009 New books for the week of December 7, 2009 Juvenile Collection". sils.unc.edu. University of North Carolina . Retrieved June 22, 2015. A deliciously imaginative story about friendship―from the author / illustrator of The Scrambled States of America. A deliciously imaginative story about friendship—from Laurie Keller, the author / illustrator of The Scrambled States of America.Silly, joyful fun. Arnie’s adventure is a romp through several comedic set-ups, from how donuts are made to a brainstorming session on jobs a donut could have OTHER than food, leading readers on a ridiculous ride sure to inspire giggles. Adding to the humor are the controlled chaos of the illustrations, featuring a wild cast of characters – culinary and otherwise – who offer small text asides of jokes, factoids, and visual gags. The length is perfect for a storytime, but these visual Easter eggs make a longer perusal well worth the effort. JJ loves this one, especially the theatrical tone of the dialogue that makes reading aloud a ton of fun. A funny foodie tale with a unexpectedly sweet ending, and we recommend it. Note: A copy of this book was provided to The Baby Bookworm by the publisher in exchange for an honest review.) Opinion: This book is so Funny! I watched and listened to it being read by Chris O'Dowd on Story Line on YouTube and he did a very good job. The illustrations are fun and colorful and full of variety. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone.
