About this deal

To acquire a Merchant card, first pay for it by placing ANY crystals from your caravan on each Merchant card to the left of the card you are acquiring and then take that Merchant card into your hand. Having a bit of lighter fun with people at the local club playing Forgotten Waters. The only disappointment is that because there's around 20 people playing different games in a pub's function room... Weight-wise, the Century/Golem games come in at around the gateway, gateway-plus category. They’re easy to learn… but difficult to master. As a game in its own right, An Endless World provides a pleasant array of variety with every play. But an appealing add-on with the Century games runs tue with the Golem Editions, too. This series can intertwine with one another to create hybrid games. You can combine any two of the Golem games to create a blend of gameplay. Or you can integrate all three for a giant (or should that be golem-sized?) game!

Shellhead, thank you for mentioning EEAaO. Watched it last night and it was an enjoyable and unexpected experience. Girlfriend and I talked about it quite a bit afterwards. The artwork for Century: Golem Edition is absolutely gorgeous. Each Merchant Card comes with it a beautiful depiction of the different characters of the game trading crystals with one another or finding themselves in deep caves or hanging precariously off a cliff to recover more crystals. My favorite aspect of the game's design is the look and themes of the Golems. Each Golem looks like it's been specifically designed for a different purpose. There's a golem for herding sheep, playing music, and even one that's into topiary. Before you even get into playing a game of Century: Golem Edition be sure to take a peruse through all of the different Golem types. Too much good artwork to enjoy What are our final thoughts on Century: Golem Edition?

Exploration will reveal more of the board. Traders mean more of your worker meeples move from reserve into your active pool. Help lets you activate a location using fewer traders and Tools give you extra gems when you work a location. The rules are well-presented on concise handy reference cards. Golem Setting Other cards simply produce crystals and finally other cards allow you to upgrade crystals (Yellow-Green-Blue-Pink). The Merchant card on the far left is free, but any kind to the right of that must be paid for by laying one crystal of your choice on each card to the right of it. This is one of my favourite parts of Century – should I cough up my hard earned crystals to get that shiny card that would really help me, or do I use them to fulfil that points card and move closer to the end game. Crystals for my Spice I may be a little biased here, but if you're looking for a present that the whole family will enjoy this year, you can't go wrong with a classic board game. When I say I'm biased, it's because my wife and her family are absolutely crazy about board games, an enthusiasm which has now infected me - so I decided to ask them for their all-time favourites to put together a handy gift guide for ChronicleLive readers.Despite the decisions on display I never felt under or overwhelmed. Whether my plans were in tact or had to be adapted there was nearly always something I wanted to do and more importantly was worth doing. At four players the game positively sprints by as players are a turn-taking blur of card and crystal grabbing before cashing in. Some players slow this down but by in large when your turn comes round you know exactly what you want to do. My Precious Following the release of Spice Road, a Golem Edition was released that changed the setting from the Silk Road to the fantastical land of Caravania. In the fantasy-themed spin-off, players found themselves travelling the Golem Road in search of magical crystals they could trade. Century: Golem Edition was initially only available directly from publisher Plan B Games or at conventions, with no sequels confirmed.
